“The demand for this kind of program is huge and largely still unmet."

PILAglobal is honored to partner with pediatrician and Stanford Global Health Faculty Fellow Dr. Xin She to study the impact of our Tijuana Parenting Program, which provides critical support, education, and coping strategies to parents and caregivers at the US-Mexico border.
Our work with Dr. She, highlighted in an article published last month by Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health, aims to quantify the program’s success — an important step in expanding our parenting programs to other refugee camps and shelters around the globe.
Parenting is difficult in any context, but the context of a camp brings additional stressors and trauma,” says Lindsay Weissert, PILAglobal CEO. “These parenting classes are the most important program we offer, and we’re thrilled that Xin is working with us on data and evaluation to understand how programs like this might be implemented in camps and shelters around the world.”
